Jason Wheeler WFAA Bio Wiki Age Wife Right On The Money Salary and Net Worth

Jason Wheeler is an American anchor and reporter. He currently serves as a news anchor, Business/Consumer Reporter, as well as a Special Projects Senior Reporter at WFAA Media ( ABC Affiliate), A TEGNA Company based in Dallas, TX. Jason got his first TV job in El Paso. His journalism career has taken him on various phenomenal adventures.

From the vortexes of many hurricanes, the Amazon rainforest, the decks of aircraft carriers at sea, the presidential campaign trail, and the front-row view of space shuttle launches among others. However, his work has been grueling sometimes, i.e gut-wrenching as well as often exciting.  Jason has gotten a few awards out of it, too; three regional Emmy Awards, several Texas Associated Press Awards,  and also two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.

He was born in Galveston Island, Texas City,United States of America. Jason has not disclosed his date of birth but looking at his appearance, he may be 44 years old.

He is a man of average stature. Jason stands at a height of5 ft 8 in ( Approx 1.73m).

He was born and raised by his mother in Galveston Island, Texas City. Jason was raised along with his sister by their single mother. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (paramedic). He and her sister grew up in an interesting group of characters, a raucous and humorous extended family that included great-grandparents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and his mother’s co-workers.

He fell in love with a fellow reporter while working at El Paso. The two eventually got married although they relocated.  The couple shares two daughters together.  Also, the family consists of a sidekick, a half Chihuahua, and a half weenie dog ( a very spoiled Chiweenie )

He attended and graduated from the University of Houston from 1990 to 1994. Jason holds a degree in Radio/Television journalism. While still a student, Jason worked multiple jobs so as to raise money for his education at the University of Houston. As a teenager, he worked as a volunteer ambulance dispatcher.

He got into television as a result of an insatiable curiosity he had as a child while growing up. As a kid, Jason’s mother would always call him ‘Marvin’ after Marvin Zindler. Zindler was a boisterous consumer advocate, a legendary, hard-charging man whose voice boomed from the ABC-TV station in Houston for so many years. Jason would always stand up for the little guy. He did that with one-of-a-kind flair. Working at WFAA inspired Jason because it’s a station that takes chances while trying new things.

When he wants to tell a story a different way, this place encourages Jason to think outside the box and experiment. It has made him take more responsibility and grow in what he does. WFAA has such a history, such a legacy. The major thing is, that Jason works hard to maintain the principles that made the station great. However, he changes it just enough to make it new, relevant, and fresh.

Apart from journalism,  during his free time, Jason likes to travel, his goal is to be able to visit every corner of the world. Additionally, Jason likes to read and consumes volumes of magazine features as well as newspaper articles. Apart from that, Jason is as well an avid swimmer, a regularly practicing yogi, hiker, an absolute lover of tennis, an occasional cyclist, and also a pretty darn good cook.
