Tammy Hembrow and Matt Poole deny rumours of a shotgun proposal

Tammy Hembrow announced her pregnancy very soon after getting engaged to her longtime partner Matt Poole.

But she has denied the two events are related, insisting during a YouTube Q&A on Friday that Matt’s decision to pop the question wasn’t a ‘shotgun proposal’.

The 27-year-old Instagram influencer was asked by a fan if her Ironman beau had asked her to marry him because of her pregnancy.

Matt answered: ‘No, good question but no. I was actually planning the proposal a fair bit before.’

He proposed to Tammy last month on a private yacht decorated with roses, with her two children, son Wolf, six, and daughter Saskia, five, by their side.

Tammy called his romantic gesture ‘cute’ and added she didn’t know about his plans.

Matt said: ‘Well, obviously you didn’t. That’s a harder surprise.’

Tammy announced her engagement on November 24 in a video on Instagram.
